The Davidson's

Rosie Mae Howard was born 1889 and died 1981, she was the daughter of Sara Jennings, Howard, born 1822 and died 1943.

Sara was a cousin of Walt Disney. Although I'm sure there must have been other children , Rosies' sister Mary was the only one I remember meeting.

It only took one look at Rosie and Mary to know they were Native American.

One time when I was quit young (maybe 8 or 9), we went to Aunt Mary's house in Deep Water, MO.

I'll never forget watching her daughter brush her hair.  Had she stood, it surly would have dragged the floor.

It was Sara that was Osage Indian, but through inter-marriages - Clate and Ira are cousins and Edith and Carrie are sisters (that sort of thing) - the Osage blood line has been kept strong.

Uncle Clate and
Aunt Carrie

Sara's father, was ? Jennings.  Three Howard brothers immigrated here from Ireland, but one disappeared as soon as they landed (I was told he was on the run when they left Ireland) and was never heard from again.  The two remaining brothers worked their way down the Illinois River, cutting wood for the steam boats, and settled in Missouri, not to far west of Hannibal

My fathers double cousin, Ira Howard, is a wood cutter to this day. And Clifford (my dad) and Clate (his brother) Davidson owned a sawmill in the Ozarks for many years.
